We’ve also been told that most Rogers stores as well as Future Shops/Best Buys have very limited quantities of both 16GB and 32GB. Much different from their 3GS launch last year when they had plenty to go around. Most stores are using their quantities for new activation customers over upgrades. So don’t be shocked when they turn you away. Just hope for the best!

Good luck to all those Canadians hoping to get an iPhone 4 tomorrow!

As most may have heard already, Apple will be launching their iPhone 4 this Friday (July 30, 2010) in 17 other countries. Canada being one of said 17. Putting aside all the “Antennagates” debacles, Apple will be selling their new iPhone 4 unlocked from their Online and Retail stores. With that being said, comes quite the large price tag. Respectively, the 16GB iPhone 4 will be priced at $659 and $779 for the 32GB.

Sure having an unlocked phone gives you the freedom to do as you please, and doesn’t put you in to a 3 year contract predicament, but with the hefty pricing, we find it hard to believe that many will be purchasing it outright.

You will still be able to pick up the iPhone 4 from either of the big 3 (Rogers, Telus or Bell), for subsidized pricing— $199 for the 16GB and $299 for the 32GB.

Knowing this, how many of you think you will be purchasing the iPhone 4 Unlocked directly from Apple?

We’ve now heard it from Steve Jobs himself, “Nearly any smartphone can lose reception if you hold it in the wrong way.”. Well, doesn’t that just make everyone happier? Not quite.

Steve had also shown some demonstrations of other smartphones in the market (BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris and Samsung Omnia II) that have similar “antenna” based issues. From our own personal experience, and reader comments regarding their devices (which Apple used to demonstrate), had none of these said antenna/signal issues. Me personally, I’ve tried two hand gripping my BlackBerry 9700 still not dropping a single bar.

This being said. Apple’s conclusion to this debacle is to give all users from launch up until September 30th a free bumper (or case which they can choose from). According to Consumers Report, this case/bumper will correct your “death grip issues”.

We’re not entirely sure what Mr. Jobs meant by saying in September they’ll “reevaluate the situation”. Whether or not this means they’re going to release an iPhone 4 with a fixed antenna, or if they’ll keep it to saying, you need a bumper. End of story. I guess only time will tell.

We want to here what you all have to say. From what Steve Jobs explained in the press conference, to whether or not your happy with the free bumper/case for your iPhone 4′s. Or if you’ll opt to get a full refund all together.
