So, there you have it! Apple has officially announced the iPhone 4 S! As many of us were hoping for the iPhone 5, which was speculated to have a 4″ display among other updates and new form factor, I have to admit, I’m not disappointed at all with the 4 S. Asides from the over 200 new features in the upcoming iOS 5, this is what you can look forward to in terms of updated hardware: Dual-Core A5 Chip, 8MP Pixel Camera with 1080P HD video recording. Something else that we can all get really excited for is Apple’s new voice command/personal assistant, Siri. This is probably the most in depth voice command system I’ve ever seen, and in my opinion, it even tops Android!

Read on for more.

Here’s a video of Apple’s new voice command service, Siri! Check it out! Looks pretty awesome to us. Watch the video here.

Apple has said the iPhone 4S will be available in US, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Australia on October 14th and Pre-orders will be available as of October 7th. This is also their fastest launch after announcing the new iPhone. As for pricing, 16GB is $199, 32GB is $299 and 64GB will be $399! Canadian pricing has yet to be announced, though we can expect it to be slightly higher. Apple has also kept the iPhone 3GS and 4 around, the 3GS will be $0 on contract, as well the iPhone 4 8GB will be $99. All pricing is per contract (2 year [US], 3 year [Canada]).

There’s a tonne to look forward to in the next week and a half. We’ll keep you posted as it happens.

We want to know if you’ll be ditching your current iPhone 4 for a iPhone 4S and if you see it worthwhile to you. Tune in the comments!

Update: Apple has posted their video of today’s event, check it out here.

The internet has been buzzing this past weekend. Apparently the iPhone 5 that we’ve all been holding our breath for, won’t exactly be an iPhone 5. Though the iPhone 4s is still anticipated to have some juicy updates worthy of ditching your current iPhone 4. Those updates being, but not limited to: Apple’s A5 processor, an 8MP camera, an HD front facing camera and potentially some more RAM. Read on for more.

There’s also an article that was published today by the WSJ stating that Sprint might be going in to a $20 billion dollar deal with Apple and receiving an iPhone 5 exclusivity. The iPhone 5 would be a 4G WiMAX device, too. The rest of the world might get the taste of an iPhone 5 early in Q1 of 2012, though the device seen in Q1 of 2012 would most probably be a 4G HSPA+ device. I personally am hoping this is just as it is, a rumor. I don’t see why Apple would put themselves in this position, for those upgrading to an iPhone 4s, then 3-4 months later pushing an iPhone 5 wouldn’t be a wise move when considering profit. This scenario seems all too familiar as well, back earlier this year, the rumor mill was going at it, day after day, with Apple releasing an iPad 3, with very little time between launches. This of which, obviously, didn’t happen. I can see them losing quite a few users if they end up going this route.

All in all, we’ll soon find out, as the “Let’s Talk iPhone Event” is less than 24 hours away. Feel free to tune in with what you think in the comments.
